Since 2019, the Backyard Project has aimed to shine a spotlight on remarkable motorcycles created by passionate individuals. Today, it’s time to showcase your own project and share it with the public. Do you want to display your work, see the impact of your creation on an informed audience, and meet other enthusiasts? This competition is the most eclectic gathering for motorcycle builders, whether they are passionate amateurs or experienced professionals.
For this 14th edition, 10 unique custom bikes will be selected, with no style restrictions. Whether it’s a chopper, bobber, café racer, scrambler, or racer, gas or electric bike, vintage or modern, the goal remains the same: to highlight the mechanics and the harmony between them and the overall design of the bike. All selected bikes must be in perfect working order and ready to ride.
In the previous edition in 2024, Baltasar from Indi Motorcycles won with an outstanding creation that captured everyone’s attention. His project will be displayed at Artride 2025, a well-deserved reward that demonstrates the importance of the competition and the recognition it offers to creators.
The Backyard Project encourages creativity, the discovery of new trends, the appreciation of craftsmanship, originality, and ingenuity. The key is to stay true to your style and your “cool attitude,” while remaining in harmony with your bike.
A jury consisting of 5 key figures from the Wheels and Waves universe – guests, journalists, designers, etc. – will choose the winner of this WW25 edition.
The winning project will be showcased at Artride 2026.

The 10 selected projects will be displayed to the public throughout the Wheels and Waves festival in a dedicated area at the Village – Cité de l’Océan. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet other enthusiasts, share your work, and engage with professionals in the field.
