Backyard Project Contest 2026: Comes to Town
Good news! For its 15th edition, the Backyard Project steps into the big league and moves right into the heart of the Wheels and Waves Village. Set in a central, lively space, the contest will allow visitors to experience the projects up close and immerse themselves fully in the builders’ world.
The Backyard Project is the most eclectic competition dedicated to motorcycle builders, whether passionate amateurs or seasoned professionals.
All different, but all together.
All selected projects will be displayed under a single tent, with no restrictions on style: chopper, bobber, café racer, scrambler, racer… combustion or electric, vintage or modern. The goal remains the same: to celebrate mechanics and the harmony between engineering and overall design. All bikes must be in perfect working condition and ready to ride.
The Backyard Project champions creativity, the discovery of new trends, and the celebration of craftsmanship, originality, and ingenuity. What matters most: staying true to your style and your cool attitude, in perfect harmony with your machine.
A jury made up of three personalities from the Wheels and Waves universe (guests, journalists, builders…) will select the winner of the edition.
The winning project will be exhibited at Artride 2027.
